1. Data Controller

Makes Sense ("Makes Sense", "we", "us" or "our") is the data controller responsible for the personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at any time regarding privacy matters at makesensemrkt@gmail.com.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and which rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and applicable national data protection law.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect the personal data you voluntarily provide to us. When you complete the contact form on this website, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Surname
  • Company
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Estimated budget
  • Requested service
  • Preferred contact method
  • Project description

We may also process limited technical data generated automatically by your browser (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security, anti-spam and aggregated statistical purposes. We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data, and we do not collect data from children.

3. Purpose of Processing

We use the information you provide exclusively to:

  • respond to enquiries you send us;
  • prepare quotes, estimates and project proposals;
  • communicate with potential clients about a possible collaboration;
  • provide and deliver the services you have requested.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not send marketing communications unless you have explicitly asked to receive them.

4. Legal Basis

We process personal data on the following legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:

  • Consent (Art. 6.1.a) — when you submit the contact form and accept this Privacy Policy, and when you accept non-essential cookies.
  • Pre-contractual and contractual measures (Art. 6.1.b) — when the processing is necessary to prepare a proposal or to deliver a service you have requested.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f) — to keep this website secure and free of abuse and spam.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c) — where we must retain records for accounting or tax purposes.

5. Data Retention

Enquiries that do not lead to a working relationship are kept for a maximum of twelve (12) months from the last contact, after which they are deleted. Where a project is agreed, the related data is retained for the duration of the engagement and afterwards for the periods required by applicable commercial, accounting and tax legislation. You may request deletion at any time, subject to those legal retention duties.

6. Data Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. This website is served exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections, access to submissions is restricted to authorised personnel, and data is stored on infrastructure operated by reputable providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continually review our safeguards.

7. Third-Party Services

This website is hosted on Netlify, which also processes contact form submissions on our behalf as a data processor. Netlify may store data on servers located outside the European Economic Area; such transfers are covered by the safeguards foreseen in Chapter V GDPR, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Where analytics are enabled, aggregated and anonymised usage statistics may be processed only after you have given your consent through our cookie banner. Further detail is available in our Cookie Policy.

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties, and we never share it for advertising purposes.

8. Your Rights under the GDPR

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • data portability in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
  • lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, write to makesensemrkt@gmail.com. We will respond within one month of receiving your request, as required by the GDPR.

9. Contact Information

For any question about this Privacy Policy or about how your data is handled, contact Makes Sense at makesensemrkt@gmail.com.
